The Aga Khan is the hereditary prince and Imam of the Nizari Ismaili Muslims. Aga Hasan Ali Ali Shah, 46th Imam of the Ismailis was given the title of Aga Khan by the Shah of Persia in the 19th Century. Since that time there have been four Aga Khans.
